Proverbs 23 6-9

Do not eat the bread of a miser,
Nor desire his delicacies;
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
“Eat and drink!” he says to you,
But his heart is not with you.
The morsel you have eaten, you will vomit up,
And waste your pleasant words.

Devotional

This is the greedy person who, to be rich, hoards his riches, withholding from the poor and needy to keep and increase his own wealth. He invites someone to enjoy his courtesies, feigning generosity, while really being sickeningly hypocritical, as his real goal is to take advantage in some way so to increase his wealth at his guest’s expense. Bible Footnotes

Heavenly Father- Help me to realize that anything you have given me on this earth is to be shared, my wealth, my time, my kindness and I am only passing through on this earth until I can be with you in eternity. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
